Preparing Old Apps for iPhone 3.0

Yesterday Apple held their World Wide Developer Conference in California and announced the golden master of iPhone OS 3.0 to the audience. The release of the golden master (GM coincidentally) means that barring any major issues, it will be the same OS that will be available for download within a few days to the general public. The release for developers means that any existing applications have to be fully tested on iPhone OS 3.0 prior to it being released by Apple.

Today I spent some more time checking my existing applications to ensure that they work correctly on iPhone 3.0 and then resubmit them if they do not.

As I have previously noted on my Twitter account, the only problems existed in applications that used C++. A few taps of the keys in Xcode in the C++ header files and the problems were resolved. I then had a clean compile with no errors or warnings.

If anyone has C++ code that they include in their iPhone applications I would recommend that they spend a few minutes checking their apps.
