Smurfit-Stone, a maker of cardboard packaging has filed for bankruptcy. The move comes as the reduction in shipping of products in the manufacturing sector takes a heavy toll. The company which is the second largest maker of packaging in the U.S. employs 22,000 workers who jobs are now in doubt.
