Car Bomb Found in Times Square

Many people are hearing about the car bomb that was found and prompted an evacuation of times square late Saturday night. The bomb which was placed in a Nissan Pathfinder had already started to detonate, but failed to ignite.

The car bomb forced thousands of tourists to evacuate, while thousands more were stranded in hotels and business throughout the Times Square area. Reports from the NYPD and the Mayor confirm that the bomb was not built by a professional, and contained propane and fireworks.

If the device had ignited, it would have resulted in more of a large fire than explosion. Whether that is true will remain to be seen as the NYPD and FBI investigate the car bomb further.

Information regarding the vehicle had so far taken investigators to a junkyard in Conneticut, that was the origins of the plates. These plates were found to have come from a different vehicle whose owner had disposed of the vehicle only days before the plates where placed on the Nissan Pathfinder.

The NYPD has begun to review security camera footage from the area in hopes of finding a lead on a suspect.
