Apple Tablet Speculation
1/22/2010 9:07:00 AM
We are now only five days away from the Apple event that may bring the unveiling of Apple's tablet. As we get closer the rumors are beginning to come out even more in favor of the a tablet.
The event will not only focus on an Apple tablet, but will have three parts. These will form the foundation for Apple's plans to continue growing revenue in the coming years.
The list of announcement items that Apple may launch are:
1. A new version of iTunes.
2. The iPhone 4 OS.
3. The Apple tablet.
The new version of iTunes will be needed to handle the new tablet specific features. These will primarily focus on the electronic publishing of books and magazine. Remember that Apple has been meeting with many different publishers, and many would like to have access to as many markets as possible to provide digital versions of their content.
The new version of the iPhone OS will have to be launched to not only support a tablet, but also new features to enable purchasing books and the new form factor. An SDK will most likely be available on January 27th for download, allowing developers to begin coding for the new screen size and hardware of the tablet.
The final part of the January announcement will be the tablet. In keeping with Apple's current design trend we can expect an aluminum case, built in battery and a major upgrade to how we interact with the UI.
