TSA Blunder Reveals Secrets

12/9/2009 10:17:00 AM

It seems the TSA has once again done it. This time they have posted a sensitive document detailing procedures for agents dealing with checkpoints, diplomats and pictures of CIA, Senate and House of representative ID cards.

Those pieces of information are not that bad, since they can easily be detected as fakes with the use of a black light that does not show the seal embedded in the documents. The biggest threat from the release of the manual deals with procedures for searches and for specifications on x-ray machines.

The information contained in the manual can help a terrorist pass by the security check points. One piece of information that would aid a terrorist is the publication of the size of wire that cannot be detected by an x-ray machine. Which can aide a terrorist in building a bomb to get past the security checkpoints.

It is not yet known if the TSA simply published a document that was not properly labelled as sensitive, or it was a poor oversight on their part.

What we do know is someone will be penalized, or possibly loose their jobs.
