When Security Goes Wrong

It's been a few days since President Obama's state dinner was crashed by what can only be described as attention seeking reality TV show actors. As the days passed since the couple breached White House security, a clear picture begins to emerge about the details of the breach. (more...)

What is known about the Salahi's is that they where not on the offical guest lists, they did gain entry to the White House and they did meet the President. The Secret Service had initially denied that the couple had made it into the receiving line for the President. They were later proved wrong when photos showing the Salahi's shaking the hand of the President. Clearly they were wrong.

As the world begins to realize the breach in security, many wonder how the only argument that can be made in defense of a clear lapse in procedure by the Secret Service was that couple had passed through a magnetometer. They do not take into account the most serious aspect of the breach. If two uninvited guests can simply walk past security, then what would stop a terrorist intent on doing harm?
